Contradictions

Tuesday, October 3, 2023: This morning I pulled the Four of Pentacles. This card always calls me to confront contradictions within myself, being both withholding and generous at the same time. I am invoking The Hanged Man, from the Meryl Tarot. This card speaks to our contradictions with the image of Meryl Streep as Isabella in Measure for Measure. Streep played Isabella in 1976, in Central Park as part of the New York Shakespeare Festival. Isabella is a complex and contradictory character. Isabella is deeply religious and virtuous, but she is also capable of deceit and manipulation. She is a powerful advocate for justice, but she is also willing to compromise her own values in order to save her brother. She is a strong, intelligent, and compassionate woman who is forced to confront the harsh realities of the world around her.

As always when I speak of life, love and Tarot I speak only for myself.
