Saturday, August 5, 2023: The Eight of Pentacles is a card appropriate for a work in progress. It’s a card of application, determination and skill. In the presence of a reliable relationship it’s an indication that the hard work put into the relationship is worth it. It may seem like an odd card to pull on this day when my eldest brother died. Perhaps not, given the complicated link of him to the past. The past led to the present. Time to honor the journey and remember that it was an important step that made the present possible. It is the imperfect perfection of my life.

Sunday, April 20, 2025: Today I pulled the Hermit. For me this is a card of inward reflection. The important thing is look at yourself and reflect on who you are now. This is not who the world expects you to be or who you were yesterday. Friday, February 24, 2023: Today I pulled the Hanged Man. For me this is a card of taking time and consideration of different perspectives. It’s between the powerful cards of Justice and Death in the Major Arcana. I’m invoking the Princess of Swords. I call this the mindfulness card. I read the Page/Princess cards as cards of having a beginner’s mind.
